Methodological basis

NeuroScreen uses methods and paradigms described in the scientific literature. The platform reports the parameters of a measurement separately from their interpretation, and the range of possible analyses depends on the hardware, the signal quality and the requirements of the protocol.

Event-related potentials (ERP), including the P300

The P300 is an ERP component analysed in the EEG response synchronised with defined events. Its latency and amplitude are interpreted in the context of the protocol, the signal quality and the number of trials; they may be related to stimulus evaluation, attention and context updating, among other things. These parameters are not on their own a measure of cognitive function.

Similarity of responses between participants

Inter-subject measures serve to quantify the comparison of the time course of the EEG responses of people receiving the same stimulus material.

Consumer EEG in research paradigms

In the supported configuration the Muse headband records four EEG channels at a sampling rate of 256 Hz. The use of selected Muse models in ERP protocols is described in the scientific literature. The range of possible analyses depends, however, on electrode placement, signal quality and the requirements of the given protocol; the headband does not replace a full laboratory system.

NeuroScreen is a platform for recording and analysing EEG for research and wellness purposes. The platform is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnosis, treatment or medical decisions. Data is stored on servers in the EU; the rules for processing it are described in the privacy policy.
